Interview Format (MMI)

We’ll be using Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) to assess candidates.

  • MMIs consist of six interview Stations, each with a different interviewer.
  • At each station there will be two questions.
  • Candidates with have three minutes allocated for each question, so six minutes in total.
  • You will also be given three minutes before each station to read through the questions and consider your response.
  • Each station is marked separately and independently. Therefore, if you feel one station hasn’t gone well you are still able to make up for it at others.

Interview Stations

The questions will be clearly displayed before each Station.

An announcement will be made to ‘Start Reading’. Please use this time to read through the question for your first assigned station and consider your response.

An announcement will be made to ‘Start Station’. The interviewer will read out the first question for you.

After three minutes, there will be an announcement to ‘Start Next Question’. Again, the interviewer will read out the question to you. There will be a further announcements confirming: ‘One Minute Remaining’ and ‘End Station’.

You will then move on to the next Station. The process is the same at all six Stations.

End of Interview

Once all Stations been completed, there will be a short debrief session.

You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with a current Medicine student at Bangor University, who will share insights into their experience and answer any questions you may have about studying Medicine here. This will be followed by an optional tour of the Ffriddoedd halls of residence village. Guests are welcome to join you during this part of the day.

Please note: Recognition of Prior Education and Learning RPEL candidates will sit an Exam after interview. Please see further information below.
