A Sociolinguistic Study of Dinnertime Conversations in Mixed-race Couples: Qualitative Case Studies in the U.K.
The research hopes to identify conversational strategies in spontaneous dinnertime conversations in mixed-race couples living in the U.K. The transcripted audio (of at least 25 hours) will be analyzed using the Jefferson Transcription Notation. The analysis is data-driven, although the research will look into analyzing storytelling and arguments in dinnertime conversations.
