Professor Khaled Hussainey Elected Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences

The Fellowship is awarded to leading social scientists whose work has made a substantial contribution to social science for public benefit. Professor Hussainey has been recognised for his significant contribution to research and academic development in accounting and finance.

Election to the Fellowship is one of the highest honours within the social sciences, recognising excellence in research, policy impact, education and professional practice.

Professor Hussainey said:
"I am delighted and deeply honoured to have been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. This prestigious recognition marks a significant milestone in my academic career and strengthens my commitment to advancing research that informs professional practice and delivers meaningful public benefit.

This achievement also reflects the support and contributions of the many colleagues with whom I have had the privilege of working over the past 25 years. Their ideas, collaboration and dedication have greatly enriched my academic journey.
