Yr Herald Cymraeg Caernarfon - No. 1 - (19 May 1855 - March 1937)
Yr Herald Gymraeg A'r Genedl April 1937- The first
edition was published on 19th May 1855. The publisher was James
Rees, owner of The Carnarvon and Denbigh. The first editor was
James Evans and he edited the apper for at least twenty years.
According to R. Maldwyn Thomas James Evans was the most important
newspaper figure in Caernarfon until 1880. For more information
