A shared bond of success – mother and daughter graduate

One family’s link with the PJ Hall stage will continue this year, as a mother and daughter from Garndolbenmaen graduate during the week and in doing so, follow in the footsteps of the eldest daughter and sister who graduated from the University in 2016.

Graduation Profile: Osian Wyn Owen – BA Welsh

Osian Wyn Owen, 21, from Felinheli has received a first-class Welsh BA degree and has also won the School of Welsh’s John Morris-Jones Award for the best third year results. He has also won a Dr John Robert Jones Award which are awarded annually to the best students across all disciplines at the University.

From UMCB and JMJ to the BBC – university experience is the perfect training for Liam

BBC Radio Cymru listeners may have heard a new voice reporting news stories from north-east Wales recently. Liam John Evans, 21 and from Old Colwyn, is now a journalist with the national station, despite him not yet having received his BA degree in Welsh and History - an event that will surely be the day’s top story for his family and friends on Tuesday morning, 17 July.

Launch of Bangor’s Centre for Arthurian Studies

Bangor University will be seeing in 2017 with the launch of a new Centre for Arthurian Studies on Friday 20 January, just as Wales begins to celebrate a Year of Legends. Throughout 2017 events will be held at historic sites the length and breadth of Wales in celebration of its rich culture and heritage.
