Overall aims and purpose
Mae'r modiwl hwn yn rhoi trosolwg o'r rolau y mae gweithwyr cymdeithasol yn ymarfer mewn cymdeithas gyfoes. Mae dadleuon ynghylch 'Beth yw Gwaith Cymdeithasol?' wedi bod wrth wraidd trafodaeth rhyngwladol a chenedlaethol. Mae Ffederasiwn Rhyngwladol Gweithwyr Cymdeithasol a Chymdeithas Ryngwladol Ysgolion Gwaith Cymdeithasol yn cadarnhau eu cyd-ddealltwriaeth o waith cymdeithasol: “The Social Work profession promotes change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well -being.” (Coulshed a Orme 2012: xviii)
Course content
Cynnwys y modiwl:
i) Beth yw Gwaith Cymdeithasol? Disgrifio a diffinio Gwaith Cymdeithasol
ii) Chi a Gwaith Cymdeithasol. Beth mae gweithwyr cymdeithasol yn ei wneud a ble maent yn gweithio?
iii) Gwerthoedd a Moeseg ar gyfer Gwaith Cymdeithasol. Codau Ymarfer ar gyfer Ymarfer Gwaith Cymdeithasol
iv) Y cyd-destun cyfreithiol a sefydliadol lle mae'r broses Gwaith Cymdeithasol yn digwydd.
v) Ymchwil a phrofiadau unigolion a gofalwyr - dadansoddi adolygiadau o achosion difrifol mewn gwaith cymdeithasol a sut maent yn sail i ymarfer gwaith cymdeithasol cyfredol.
vi) Ymarfer gwrth –orthrymol - Hunaniaeth a dealltwriaeth o ormes a'r nifer gwahanol o ormes mewn cymdeithas gyfoes.
vii) Proses Gwaith Cymdeithasol: Asesu: Damcaniaethau a Modelau (model Cwestiynu, model Gweithdrefnol, model Rhannu a Naratif) Asesiad o Risg ac Angen; Asesu a Gormes; Asesiad aml-ddisgyblaethol.

Excellent students will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and a developed understanding of contemporary sociological theory, its social context and relationship to other social theories. They will display mature reflexive awareness and critical judgement in the application of recent theories to a range of contemporary issues.
threshold
To pass the module students must have achieved the expected outcomes at a basic level. They will be able to identify the main contributors to contemporary sociological theory and offer a basic description of their theories in context. They will show an adequate awareness of recent trends and the main similarities and contrasts between them. They will show some understanding of how theories may be applied to selected contemporary social issues.

Good students will be able to identify main contributors to contemporary sociological theory, summarise their theories and explain their origins. They will show a good awareness of recent trends and the main similarities and contrasts between them. They will show a good understanding and reflexive awareness of how theories may be applied to contemporary social issues.
