Become a Student Caller
Connect with alumni. Share your journey as Bangor University student. Develop transferable skills, gain professional experience, and make a meaningful impact in your university - all while working alongside a supportive team.
We truly appreciate every application, and the time candidates invest in expressing their interest. Due to the high volume of submissions, we’re only able to contact those who are shortlisted for the next stage. If you don’t hear from us after the closing date (15 October 2025), please know that your application has not been successful at this stage—but we’re truly grateful for your interest and wish you every success in your studies.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
As a Bangor Fund Student Caller, you’ll connect with Bangor University alumni—graduates who once walked the same paths as you. Through genuine, friendly conversations, you’ll:
- Reintroduce/update them to life at Bangor University today
- Share your experiences and campus stories
- Listen as they reflect on their own time at university and life after Bangor
- Encourage to support life-changing projects through the Bangor Fund
- From scholarships and internships to global travel bursaries, and initiatives that celebrate Welsh language and culture — you’ll help alumni see the difference their gift can make.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
- Earn £14.12/hour
- Stand out with real-world skills in communication, storytelling, and persuasion
- Receive full training and one-to-one support—no experience needed
- Have inspiring conversations with alumni as they share their journeys from Bangor and beyond
- Enjoy flexible shifts designed around your studies
- Receive a strong reference to boost your future career
- Be part of future paid campaigns as you grow with the team
ARE YOU WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
- You're a second or third year student, who can confidently share your experience of university life
- You’re reliable, professional, and always on time
- You’ve got a clear, friendly phone manner and enjoy a good conversation
- You’re a natural communicator—warm, articulate, engaging, and a great listener
- You enjoy connecting with people and sharing what makes Bangor special
- You’re adaptable and take new challenges in your stride
- You speak with heart and have a genuine interest in student life
- You’re involved in clubs, societies, or student life at Bangor—or simply have a passion for the community (involvement is a plus, but not a must!)
- Welsh language skills or other languages are a bonus—but your enthusiasm is what really matters
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO COMMIT
If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be invited to take part in a short mock telephone call. Those who demonstrate strong potential will then be invited for an interview as part of the final selection process.

You’ll need to be available for the following calling shifts:
