The International Education Centre (IEC) runs general Free English Classes for anyone who wishes to improve their English. These classes are particularly suitable for partners of overseas students, as well as for students, lecturers, researchers or anyone connected to the university. Complete beginners are welcome.
Classes will take place between Monday and Friday, during working hours and are free of charge and all necessary learning materials are provided. Classes are small and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. It is an excellent opportunity to get to know other people who are also learning to speak English.
There are 3 Levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Upper Intermediate and the classes cover all four major skills:
Classes run between Monday and Thursday during term time. Days and times are subject to change depending on the availability of the majority of students, where possible.

Term 2: 10th Jan – 1st April 2022
Term 3: 25th April – 3rd June 2022
Classes will be 1.5 hours per session. We aim to be as flexible as possible, students can join an appropriate level group at any time during the academic year.
To Register: Email the International Education Centre Reception: email@example.com
The delivery of on-line teaching will be reviewed after term 1.
As the classes are online, you will receive an email invitation containing a link that will take you straight to the online classes on the set dates and times. You will be able to join an existing group that is best for you. You can join at any time during the term, if spaces are available.
The aim of the course is to help students and their families integrate into life in Bangor, Wales and the UK. We aim to create (with your help) a space where international students and their families can meet each other, learn and share language skills and cultural experiences.
