The College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences runs general FREE English Classes for anyone connected to the university who wishes to improve their English. Local residents are also welcome. These classes are particularly suitable for partners of overseas students, as well as for students, lecturers or researchers. Complete beginners are welcome.
Classes will take place at Dean Street, Room 206 and on-line and are free of charge and all necessary learning materials are provided. Classes are small and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. It’s an excellent opportunity to get to know other people who are also learning to speak English.
There are 3 Levels:
• Beginners (L1) Dean Street – Room 206
• Intermediate (L2) Dean Street – Room 206
• Upper Intermediate / Advanced (L3) On-line
• L1: Mon – 9.30a.m. to 1p.m.
• L2: Tues – 9.30a.m. to 1p.m.
• L3: Weds – 1.00p.m. – 2.30p.m. & 3p.m. – 4.30p.m.
(L3 classes are split due to a high volume of students.)
The classes cover all four major language skills:

You can join an appropriate level group at any time during the academic year, if spaces are available.
