He investigates the control of visual attention and eye-movements. As a neurologist he has a particular interest in the neural systems that mediate these processes and how they fail after brain damage. For example, failures to orient attention to a particular side of space after cortical lesions and deficits in selection processes after damage to the pulvinar have been recent investigations. Aside from studies of such clinical populations he also employs TMS, eye-movement recordings and MRI.
