About the Skills and Employability Service

We are a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to helping you reach your career potential during your course and beyond graduation.

Our Employer Liaison and TARGETConnect Team work with graduate employers and other organisations to assist with the development, vetting and promotion of graduate jobs, internships, placements and other work experience opportunities. They work with employers of all sizes, from large multi national companies, to small scale businesses, and source opportunities for students at international, national regional and local level. The team develop and manage our Bangor TARGETConnect platform, making sure that students can easily search and apply for opportunities, manage their placements, and much more. The Team also co-ordinate the University’s Undergraduate Internship Programme.

Our Advice and Guidance / Academic School Liasion Team provide one to one guidance to students on all aspects of career exploration and management, from exploring options with your degree, to discussing work experience and postgraduate study, perfecting your CV and preparing for interviews. They co-ordinate a regular workshop / webinar programme, delivered by the Team, employers, practitioners and alumni, and work with academic schools to deliver employabillity sessions and supporting School initiatives and activities.

Our GO Wales Team provide one to one support to students facing barriers, to explore the best work experience options for them, providing support throughout the placement / experience, and helping them grow in confidence. The ‘GO Wales’ project helps eigible students* to develop their employability skills and increase their chances of obtaining graduate level employment upon leaving university.

The placements are completely tailored to fit you, your life, studies and other commitments. They can be anything from 1 to 20 days.

Our B-Enterpising Team provide students at Bangor University and graduates in Wales with a range of services to help develop their enterprise skills or to support them in starting a new business. They arrange and promote regular webinars and workshops on topics such as ‘How to Sell’ and ‘How to be a Consultant’, and arrange and support events, competitions and networking opportunities. One-to-one Business Mentoring is also available.
