The University is investing heavily in new facilities to enhance the student experience at Bangor.
State of the art sport facilities
The redeveloped Canolfan Brailsford Sport Centre offers state of the art equipment, including a brand new two-storey gym, a new aerobics studio, the complete replacement and upgrade of the public changing rooms and showers, and a new floor in the main sports hall. This is part of a wider investment in sports facilities at Bangor University which includes the new indoor tennis and netball facility at Bangor University's Sport Centre, opened by Lord Coe.
The Pontio Centre
The new Pontio Centre has cutting-edge teaching and learning facilities, a theatre, cinema and studio theatre, a bar and café, the students' union and a world-class centre for innovation.
New accommodation
The St Mary's Student Village is a £30million development of 600 new rooms with all the facilities that today's students would expect to see on a modern residential campus. It offers students the best in in comfort and design with a café bar, shop, laundrette and sports and fitness facilities all on site. At the heart of the design is a commitment to provide a real sense of community with an enhanced social and living space environment.
Student Support
As you would expect from a university that places great emphasis on student support, Bangor is keen to offer extra help to students. Bursaries and scholarships worth over £3.4M are available for new and returning students.
These include Entrance & Merit Scholarships of up to £3,000 for those who excel in the annual Entrance Scholarships.
Free clubs and societies
There are around 150 Students' Union clubs and societies, including around 50 sports clubs offered through the Athletics Union. Bangor offers free membership to all students, so you can join as many as you like!
