The coursework and training on our degrees provide the necessary theoretical, analytical, and methodological tools and skills to undertake advanced research in any of our undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. Furthermore, our vibrant research environment is supported through various events throughout the year, ranging from individual talks to informal seminars and workshops to large conferences. Many of these are open not just to academic staff, but also to students and to the general public.

BANGOR LINGUISTICS SOCIETY

Bangor University Students

Our department is proud to support the student run Bangor Linguistics Society (BLS). This society has an office and accompanying study space and computer facilities located within in the School of Linguistics and English Language. The BLS facilities are also home to a library with over 1000 books which are available for students to borrow. Whilst a student organization, and part of the Bangor Student Union, this society organises events throughout the year that staff and students are encouraged to attend and is open to all students, staff and alumni of Bangor University who are interested in the study of Linguistics or the English Language.
