Bangor is located on the North Wales coast, a few miles from Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. We're well connected by road and rail, and only 30 minutes from Holyhead Port.

There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants in and around Bangor, with many places on the University campus. Bar Uno at Ffriddoedd Village is open until late and serves food, drink and great coffee. At St Mary's Village, Barlows offers a choice of food and drink options.

Academi is the official student nightclub that hosts popular theme nights through the week.

Pontio is a social hub for students, inside you'll find a cinema and theatre as well as a bar and cafe. 

Bangor University offers exceptional opportunities in stunning natural surroundings. The Students' Union offers a range of Sport Clubs, Societies and Volunteering Projects, including;

  • Over 60 sports ranging from rugby and football to scuba diving and martial arts, and everything in between.
  • A range of societies, from academic, cultural, hobbies and interest, outdoor activities, music and drama, and gaming and appreciation societies.

THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW...

As a full-time UK and Ireland undergraduate student starting a course at Bangor, you will have two main costs:

  • Your tuition fees
  • Your living costs

There is help available to meet these costs, with the exact financial support available to you depending on which part of the UK and Ireland you are from.

Bangor University will charge new, full-time undergraduate students starting in September 2025 a tuition fee of £9,535.
