Describe your research

Subsoils are increasingly recognised as having characteristics offering a substantial potential to sequester carbon, however as crucial aspects of subsoil C dynamics are still unknown, this potential has not yet been unlocked. The project will focus on understanding the flow of carbon in the agricultural landscape with emphasis on developing new land management strategies to promote greater carbon storage at depth.

Biography

I graduated from an Integrated Master’s in Ecology and Conservation Biology with a Master’s research project investigating how grass-ley strips may enhance soil property recovery in arable agriculture. This project confirmed my interest in soil science and sustainable agriculture and led me to pursue a PhD.
