The latest NSS results highlight the School’s commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience through innovative teaching, strong academic support and industry-focused learning opportunities. The achievements contribute to Bangor University’s wider success in NSS 2026, which saw the University ranked among the Top 20 institutions in the UK for Teaching Quality and 2nd in Wales.
Our Electronic Engineering programme secured 1st place in the UK for Teaching on My Course, Academic Support, Assessment and Feedback, Learning Resources, Organisation and Management, Student Voice and Wellbeing. The programme is also ranked 1st in Wales across these key themes, demonstrating the consistently excellent experience provided to students.
The survey also reported that Electronic Engineering achieved 100% overall student satisfaction, reflecting students’ confidence in the quality of teaching, facilities and support available throughout their studies.
Product Design delivered another standout performance. Ranked as Design Studies within the NSS subject classifications, the course achieved 1st place in the UK for Teaching on My Course, Academic Support, Assessment and Feedback, Learning Resources and Learning Opportunities, while also securing top rankings in Wales across most survey themes. Bangor University has already highlighted Product Design’s achievements, noting that the course ranked 1st in the UK for Teaching on the Course, Learning Opportunities, Academic Support and Organisation and Management, underlining its reputation as one of the country’s leading design programmes.
The School’s Computer Science programme also performed strongly in a highly competitive national field. The course ranked 5th in the UK for Teaching on My Course, 17th for Academic Support, and 15th for Learning Opportunities out of 125 institutions. In Wales, Computer Science ranked 2nd for Teaching on My Course, 2nd for Academic Support, and 2nd for Student Voice, demonstrating the programme’s strength in teaching quality and student engagement.
These results reflect the School’s focus on combining academic excellence with practical, real-world experience. Students benefit from research-led teaching, modern facilities, and opportunities to develop the skills employers increasingly seek in areas such as artificial intelligence, software engineering, cybersecurity, data science, product innovation and electronic systems design. The School’s close links with industry also ensure graduates are well prepared for successful careers in rapidly evolving technology sectors

The National Student Survey is the largest annual survey of final-year students in the UK, with more than 360,000 students taking part in 2026. The survey measures student perceptions of their academic experience across a range of themes including teaching quality, academic support, learning opportunities, resources, organisation and management, and student voice.
The NSS 2026 results reinforce the School of Computer Science and Engineering’s position as a leading provider of technology and design education, with programmes recognised among the very best in Wales and the UK for student satisfaction and teaching excellence.
