Centre for Evidence Based Early Intervention - CEBEI

CEBEI vision is for all children to reach their potential.

CEBEI mission is to provide useful contributions to the evidence base for resources and interventions, that support early intervention for children and families. This enables health, social care and educational professionals to make informed choices about what works, when helping families.

We work to promote the evidence base for early intervention with children/families by asking the questions;

  • What works?
  • For whom does it work?
  • How and why does it work?

We undertake collaborative research with partner organisations who work directly with parents to improve childhood experiences, including local authorities, education, health and social care organisations. Research is funded by grant awarding bodies including NIHR, the Nuffield Foundation, Horizon 2020, KESS and CEIT.

We work closely with a charity, the Children’s Early Intervention Trust (CEIT) and its training subsidiary, Early Intervention Wales Training (EIWT), to upskill professionals through delivery of facilitator training for interventions with evidence of efficacy.
