In the context of Children's nursing advanced decision making, teamwork and prioritisation for for children, young people and their families' safety in a range of contexts, including major incidents. Shared decision making with children, young people and their families Evidence based decision making processes for children's nurses Decision making theory and its application to diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision making in children's' nursing Critically exploring the importance of clinical context in decision making with reference to service users’ perceptions, beliefs, aspirations, concerns, expectations and views. Critical exploration of intrinsic and extrinsic factors that may impact on personal clinical decision making.

Assessment Strategy

• Critically evaluate the impact of patient safety policy and management of risk in relation to individual‘s care across a range of childrens nursing settings.

• Identify, select, assess and critically evaluate the nature of informed decisions, risk assessment and hazard avoidance within childrens nursing.
