Overall aims and purpose

Dyma ddechrau ar eich gyrfa cyffroes fel ymchwilwyr cymdeithasol. Byddech yn cael hyfforddiant ym mhob agwedd o ymchwil cymdeithasol - o sylwi ffenomenon o ddiddordeb a’i archwilio, hyd at gynllunio prosiect ymchwil arloesol a phriodol. Bydd y modiwl yma yn rhoi’r sgiliau a’r hyder i chi fynd yn eich blaenau i wneud ymchwil eich hunain yn yr ail flwyddyn, gan gynnwys eich traethawd hir.

Course content

Byddech yn dysgu sut i archwilio amrediad eang o bynciau, gan hel adnoddau addas a pherthnasol amdanynt. Fydd sesiynau ar sut i feirniadu a gwerthuso adnoddau a sut i’w cyfeirnodi o fewn eich gwaith, gan greu llyfryddiaeth daclus. Fydd ffocws ar sut i ysgrifennu mewn amryw o ffyrdd ysgolhaig, gan gynnwys sesiynau hefo Canolfan y Bedwyr ar drawsieithu ac ysgrifennu mewn Cymraeg safonol. Bydd disgwyl i chi cofnodi’r hyn yr ydych yn ei ddysgu am y sgiliau sylfaenol yma mewn llyfr log gweithdy, sydd yn rhan o’r asesiad i’r modiwl. Mi fydd lle yma i chi adfyfyrio ar yr hyn rydych yn ei ddysgu, ac mi fydd hyn yn adnodd gwerthfawr i chi am weddill eich gyrfa ymchwil.

Wedi i chi meistroli’r sgiliau sylfaenol, byddech yn ffocysu wedyn ar ddysgu am fethodolegau ymchwil ynghyd â’r seiliau athronyddol, gan ystyried y cyswllt rhwng rhain a’r theorïau sydd yn deillio ohonynt. Byddech yn dysgu am sut i gynllunio prosiect ymchwil, gan gynnwys sut i ddewis methodoleg a dulliau addas. Byddech yna'n dysgu sut i fynd ati i gasglu data, ei dadansoddi, a sut i ysgrifennu am eich ymchwil ar gyfer gwahanol gynulleidfaoedd - gan gynnwys lle a sut i gyhoeddi. Fydd amrediad eang o fethodolegau yn cael ei thrafod, gan gynnwys defnydd o ddulliau meintiol, ansoddol a phrosiectau dulliau cymysg. Mi gewch gyflwyniad i becynnau meddalwedd berthnasol i ymchwil cymdeithasol. Byddech hefyd yn ystyried materion moeseg, canllawiau perthnasol, a sut i wneud cais moeseg ar gyfer gwneud gwaith ymchwil i’ch traethawd hir.

Cynhelir sesiynau dysgu'r modiwl drwy weithdai dwy awr ble annogir dysgu rhyngweithiol ar ffurf ymarferol a gweithredol. Wrth ddatblygu cais ymchwil bydd disgwyl i fyfyrwyr ffurfio grwpiau gwaith tu draw i oriau cyswllt y dosbarth. Mae hyn yn rhoi'r cyfle i fyfywyr weithio mewn tim a chefnogi ei gilydd. Dylai myfyrwyr gael mynediad at ystod eang o adnoddau er mwyn hybu eu sgiliau fel ymchwilydd cymdeithasegol, gan gynnwys testunau, monograffau a chyfnodolion, ar ffurf electronig yn ogystal â ffurf brintiedig; ac adnoddau cyfrifiadurol yn cynnwys caledwedd, meddalwedd a mynediad at Fwrdd Du. Bydd gan fyfyrwyr sy’n dilyn y cwrs awyrgylch dysgu hyblyg ei naws er mwyn cynnwys myfyrwyr o wahanol gefndiroedd ac o wahanol ddisgyblaethau academaidd. Bydd gweithdai yn rhoi cyfle ar gyfer dysgu rhyngweithiol, myfyriwr-ganolog.
