Helena O’Boyle is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) completing her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Marguerite Hoerger (BCBA-D). She graduated with a BA in Psychology and MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) from Bangor University in 2013.

Early in her career she completed a clinical internship in Massachusetts at the Devereux Foundation. She went on to become a full-time clinician based in London and Massachusetts working with individuals with a range of diagnoses. Some examples of clinical experience have included working with children and adults with PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and other learning disabilities. Her experience has been focused on the increase of adaptive behaviour in replacement of barrier behaviours that limited the educational, vocational, leisure and home environments available to those she worked with.

Helena completed an internship during her MSc in ABA under Dr. Marguerite Hoerger. It was there she developed her interest in identifying how cost effective ABA based interventions could be disseminated in the UK.

Her research thus far has focused on the implementation of the British Early Special Schools Model (BESST) in a maintained special needs school in north wales. Her clinical skills has focused on the assessment and development of individualised plans for the participants in the study and the subsequent training and supervision of teaching personnel involved in its implementation.
