British Accounting and Finance Association Annual Conference of Northern Area Group

The annual conference of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) Northern Area Group  will be held at Bangor Business School , Bangor University on 14th and 15th September 2017.

Keynote Speakers

Professor Santiago Carbo-Valverde and Professor Edward Lee

Santiago Carbo-Valverde is a Professor of Economics and Finance at Bangor University and President and Chair of the International Banking, Economics and Finance Association. Santiago has authored or co-authored a wide variety of books and academic papers of high standing on bank funding, competition, liquidity risk, efficiency, new banking business models, payments systems, financial instruments and strategic, systemic and policy issues in the banking industry. Santiago is currently a consultant for the Bank of Spain and the Bank of Ghana and has previously worked in advisory roles for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the European Central Bank, the European Commission, the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Spanish Ministry of Labour. He has also been the national coordinator of the research project grants for the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.  Santiago is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Financial Management, Markets and Institutions (JFMI) and Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Stability.

Edward Lee is a Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He is Joint Editor of Accounting and Business Research. He also serves as Associate Editor of the British Accounting Review and the European Journal of Finance, and is an editorial board member of the European Accounting Review. He has published widely in leading accounting and finance journals.
