Overview

Bwriad y modiwl hwn yw cyflwyno prif elfennau cymdeithas a diwylliant Patagonia gyfoes i fyfyrwyr israddedig drwy ddeunyddiau llenyddiaeth, ffilm a chyfryngau amrywiol. Edrychir ar gerrig milltir hanes yr ardal mewn perthynas â'r Ariannin ac America Ladin yn gyffredinol er mwyn meithrin dealltwriaeth feirniadol o ddatblygiad Patagonia hyd at y presennol. Trafodir yn y darlithoedd pynciau megis: hanes De America a'r Ariannin - o'r ymerodraeth i'r weriniaeth; 'Darganfod', mapio ac etymoleg; Patagonia a'i thrigolion yn y 19eg ganrif: brodorion, 'Conquista del Desierto', y polisi mewnfudo; Portreadau eiconig yn Saesneg; Portreadau eiconig yn Gymraeg - llenyddiaeth deithio, ffuglen, barddoniaeth, rhaglennu dogfen, ffilmiau; Canmlwyddiant a hanner y Wladfa; Patagonia yn yr 21ain ganrif: brodorion a'r frwydr rhwng 'tir' a 'thiriogaethau'.

-good -C- - B+: I ennill graddau uwch dylai myfyrwyr arddangos dealltwriaeth gadarn o’r pynciau penodol a astudiwyd, gyda dealltwriaeth eglur o’r cydberthnasau amlwg sy’n cynnwys dadansoddi a dehongli ffynonellau allweddol.

-excellent -A- - A*: I ennill y radd uchaf dylai myfyrwyr arddangos dealltwriaeth fanwl o’r pynciau penodol a astudiwyd, gyda dealltwriaeth ddyfnach o’r cydberthnasau amlwg sy’n cynnwys dadansoddi a dehongli ffynonellau allweddol yn drylwyr.

  • Ar ddiwedd y modiwl hwn, dylai myfyrwyr allu dangos eu bod nhw wedi datblygu ystod o sgiliau perthnasol sydd yn eu galluogi i ystyried deunyddiau llenyddiaeth a ffilm yn feirniadol ac yn ddadansoddol er mwyn ffurfio barn.

  • Ar ddiwedd y modiwl hwn, dylai myfyrwyr allu dangos eu bod nhw wedi meithrin dealltwriaeth ac yn gallu gwerthuso prif elfennau cymdeithas a diwylliant Patagonia, nid yn unig o ran yr ardal ei hun ond hefyd o fewn y cyd-destun ehangach (mewn perthynas â'r Ariannin ac America Ladin yn gyffredinol);

  • Ar ddiwedd y modiwl hwn, dylai myfyrwyr allu dangos eu bod nhw'n gallu dadansoddi elfennau o hanes cyfredol yr ardal a'u cysylltu â digwyddiadau'r gorffennol;

  • Ar ddiwedd y modiwl hwn, dylai myfyrwyr allu dangos eu bod nhw'n yn gyfarwydd â cherrig milltir hanes Patagonia a gallu gwneud cysylltiadau ac adnabod patrymau cyffredinol;
