Payroll

The payroll team manages the accurate processing of the University’s salary payments. We operate two monthly payrolls:

  • Bangor University  (Salaried Staff and Casual Workers)
  • M-Sparc (Salaried Staff)

Payroll works closely with the Human Resources (HR) department (Human Resources). HR provides the primary instructions regarding:

  • New starters and leavers.
  • Contractual amendments and salary changes.

The payroll team oversee all data input via iTrent Employee Self-Service (ESS) (iTrent) and departmental submissions. Our team ensures the accurate calculation and deduction of:

  • Statutory Payments: Sick Pay (SSP) and Maternity Pay (SMP).
  • Legislative Deductions: Income Tax, National Insurance, and Pension contributions  Pension contributions
  • Formal Orders: Attachment of Earnings and other voluntary allowances/deductions.
