Graduate Support Programme
Bangor University is working with institutions in Wales to provide fully funded internship placements for its graduates. We hope that, with your participation, this will create an opportunity for businesses to capitalise on Bangor University's graduate skills, giving them the opportunity to gain much-needed experience and reach graduate level employment.
What is the Graduate Support Programme?
Our Graduate Support Program offers graduates from 2020, 2021 and 2022 the opportunity to access work experience and employability support as a result of a changing market following the Pandemic, with the aim of moving them closer to the graduate labour market.
By enrolling on our Graduate Support Program, our graduates are already going beyond that to improve their employability skills by participating in our graduate pathways program, receiving 1: 1 career guidance and attending our skills workshops.
Our graduates already have a host of transferable skills including problem solving, IT, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as up-to-date technical skills from their degree expertise.
Who can take part?
- Organizations registered and located in Wales.
- Eligible organizations include start-ups, sole traders, and partnerships from all sectors.

How does it work?
1. Recruit
We can support you with your recruitment by advertising the jobs with our graduate pool, or we can put you in touch with specific graduates that we feel are relevant to your job. Graduates will apply directly for your vacancy, for you to then shortlist and interview. The venue can be either onsite or virtual, but you must be a business registered in Wales.
2. After making an offer
Once you have applied for an internship, you should follow your usual HR process with your new employee. The temporary work should be for a minimum of 100 hours up to a maximum of 420 hours, paying £10.90 per hour. As the intern's employer, you will be responsible for normal tax, national insurance, holiday and sick pay regulations.
3. Invoice
Once our paperwork has been signed, you will invoice us for the hours worked (maximum 350) and we will make the payment when the graduate completes their placement
