MA Linguistics
Year 1 Modules
The student must take 180 credits from
the modules in Year 1. Students who have a BA or BSc in
Linguistics or a closely related subject may be eligible to
be exempt from taking QXL-4432 and should take QXL-4933:
Advanced Linguistics Research Methods instead. The choice of
which research module is appropriate should be discussed
with their personal tutor. If a student has a linguistics
background, they can, upon agreement with Ling lead, take an
alternative 44XX level linguistics module(s) in place of
4411 Foundation of Linguistics
Dissertation The student must take 60 credits from
the modules in Dissertation.
Optional Modules The student must take a maximum of 80
credits from the modules in Optional Modules.
