Work Experience Placements

(For pupils in secondary education)

The co-ordination of pupils’ work experience placements at the University is managed by Angharad Roberts in Human Resources. The University procedures will need to be followed for all pupils wishing to undertake work experience at the University.

Human Resources would be grateful if schools could ensure that pupils who wish to undertake a period of work experience placement at the University submit these forms to Human Resources at least 8 weeks prior to the start of their placement. Due to the popularity of the University as a location for work experience placements the University is, unfortunately, not able to guarantee that a place can be found for a pupil if the form is received less than 8 weeks prior to the start of the placement. This timescale also ensures that the University has enough time to contact the relevant University School or Department, check they are able to take the pupil, and then to undertake all relevant risk assessments.

When a request for placement is accepted by the University the pupil and the school will receive a confirmation email from Human Resources. The email will include the location, date,  duration and start time of the placement, as well as a contact name within the relevant University School.
