  • Much of the teaching is in small groups, providing a stimulating and supportive environment.
  • Options include ensemble coaching and tuition in conducting, and a number of vocational modules such as Arts Administration.
  • We have excellent links with local and national employers, including Venue Cymru, Sain Records, the BBC, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • Our concert series is one of the most varied of any British university. It includes recitals by visiting artists, our resident ensembles, and concerts of electroacoustic music given by Electroacoustic Wales, alongside performances by students themselves.

Both of our Music courses are available through the medium of English or Welsh.

Music and/with another subject

You may choose to study Music 'and' another subject in equal proportions to gain a Joint Honours degree. If you choose a Joint Honours with a modern language the degree will take 4 years as you study abroad for one year. You can also study Music 'with' another subject in a two-thirds to one-third split. The possible combinations are listed below.
