The University is pleased to introduce our new Staff Wellbeing Champions as an additional means for staff to access support and information about wellbeing.
Please see details below to identify who is the Champion within your own Directorate or School.
A key element of creating Positive Environments as detailed in the University’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy is to:
“Create a culture in which we can talk openly about health and wellbeing” and to “make it easy for staff to engage with provision – with clear signposting to resources”.
Staff Wellbeing Champions will play a vital role in connecting you to both internal and external sources of support, as well as in promoting wellbeing activities and sharing health information at a local level. They have received training for this role and will continue to be supported with input and guidance on up-to-date wellbeing resources. Your conversations with them will be in confidence (except in the case of any safeguarding concerns) and you can be assured of an encouraging and empathetic response.
We hope that colleagues will feel free to contact their local Champion for an informal, confidential chat and to get involved in activities being organised within schools and directorates to promote wellbeing.
If your department doesn’t yet have a Wellbeing Champion and you would like to consider applying, there will be another round of recruitment at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org should you like some further information.
