BCUHB provides information and signposts to range of local community-based services to support mental health and wellbeing. These include GP practices, I CAN Community Hub, Primary Care Mental Health Service, Active Monitoring, and Parabl therapies.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING COURSES
BCUHB’s Self Care Office runs a range of free health and wellbeing courses for adults living in communities across North Wales to help improve wellbeing and effectively manage long-term health conditions. Courses include Five Ways to Wellbeing, Connecting with People, Foodwise for Life, Healthy Hearts and many more.
SILVERCLOUD ONLINE THERAPY
People across Wales can now access free online therapy without needing to go through their GP.
SilverCloud is an online therapy platform that uses proven methods like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help people manage their problems by encouraging them to change the way they think and behave.
People aged 16 and over experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, depression or stress can sign-up for a 12-week course of SilverCloud online therapy. You can choose from one of 17 online mental health and wellbeing programmes, including help with anxiety, depression, stress, sleep, and money worries.

• Keeping Mental Health in Mind. This online course is designed to give staff the skills, knowledge, and confidence to offer a first line of support to students who may have mental health issues. To access this learning opportunity, please click here
• Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Wales training
• Responding to disclosures of sexual violence. This course is designed to support staff in how to effectively receive a disclosure of sexual violence from a student. The course is interactive and features several short films, case studies, news articles and activities. It should take you approximately 1-2hrs to complete. To access this course, please click here
UNIVERSITY INTERACTIVE TOOLS AND PRACTICAL GUIDES:
Looking After Your Mind outlines tips and tools to support good mental health habits and methods to identify and effectively deal with the causes of distress
Managing Stress and Wellbeing Positively introduces key considerations in relation to managing the normal stresses that come from adapting to change
Stress at Work introduces the University’s stress policy and provides tailored guidance and self-assessment tools relating to the identification and management of workplace stress.
The Centre for Mindfulness Research and practice offer free mindfulness meditations. If you prefer practicing mindfulness live and with other people, you can also join a range of free online ‘live’ zoom meditation sessions hosted by their associated charity The Mindfulness Network, these sessions are guided by a mindfulness teacher and are held at least weekly.

CHAPLAINCY AND FAITH PROVISION:
Chaplaincy and faith provision at Bangor University is led by twelve individuals from diverse faith and religious backgrounds. They are here to listen, pray with you or for you, discuss aspects of life and faith, and some offer spiritual guidance and mentoring.

SPORT AND RECREATION FACILITATES:
- The University boasts an extensive range of indoor and outdoor sport and recreation facilities across four University sites.
Canolfan Brailsford is the University's main sports centre for both members of Bangor University and the local community. It houses a range of sport facilities, including an Astroturf, climbing wall, gyms, performance platform, squash courts and much more.
A fitness programme offers a variety of classes every day of the week, including spinning, yoga, Pilates, high-intensity interval training, and boxing. Personal training sessions can help individuals to achieve their health and fitness outcomes faster, improve technique and form, and devise a fitness regime tailored to personal needs and preferences.
A salary deduction scheme for membership at Canolfan Brailsford is available for University staff.
ACTIVE STAFF AND BOOTCAMP
The Active Staff activity programme offers staff the chance to experience a new activity every month of the year. Staff can try classes in posture and back health, boxing, couch to 5km, archery and much more. Staff Bootcamp is designed to build strength and fitness through a mix of aerobic, strength training and speed.
Active Staff and Bootcamp cost £2 per session and staff do not have to be a member of Canolfan Brailsford to join in.
CYCLE TO WORK SCHEME
The cycle to work scheme enables staff to benefit from a long-term hire of cycles and commuting equipment. It is a tax and National Insurance free scheme set up by the Government and the Department for Transport to help promote healthier journeys to work and reduce pollution and congestion.

Swimming is a fantastic low impact exercise that engages every muscle group and provides an all-over body workout. If you enjoy swimming for fitness or for leisure, there are several locations across North Wales to choose from. Find your local swimming and leisure centre.
Walking is one of the simplest of ways to maintain overall health and fitness. Our walks page features lunchtime walks from various points on the Bangor and Menai Bridge sites and some historical walks to learn about the local history and heritage. You can also find a collection of the most scenic walks from the Snowdonia mountains, Lleyn Peninsula, Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, and the County of Conwy.

The University offers a range of services to help address physical health conditions.
Canolfan Brailsford in partnership with LEAF Health offer a range of treatments. University staff and students can avail 10% discount on all treatments, such as sports therapy and massage, osteopathy, acupuncture and much more.
Occupational Health enables the rehabilitation of staff returning to work following ill health, and ensures appropriate measures are in place to support staff with health problems to work safely and effectively.
