Dr Marion Löffler is Head of History at the School of History, Archaeology and Religion at Cardiff University. Dr Löffler is particularly interested in the relationships between Welsh culture, politics and religion, as well as in Wales's place in Georgian and Victorian Europe and the British Empire. The echoes of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution of 1789 in Wales, knowledge transfer via translation and the adaptation of international concepts and ideas, as well as the history of the eisteddfod are foci of her research. Marion sits on the Board of the Dictionary of Welsh Biography and the Comittee of Women's Archive Wales, and she is also a non-executive Director of the Cyfarthfa Foundation.
