Work Package 2
Work Package 2 provides evidence-based language and literacy programmes suitable for whole class use and small group intervention work. These will be fully evaluated via randomised controlled trials (RCTs) for use at scale across Wales and are available in both Welsh and English.
Led by Bangor University in collaboration with Oxford Education & Assessment, and the University of York, this trial work will test the effectiveness of small-group and whole-class programmes, providing robust, measurable evidence of their impact on oral language, reading accuracy and fluency, and reading comprehension.
The ultimate goal is to establish a suite of language and literacy programmes interventions available in both Welsh and English to all Welsh schools, ensuring equitable access to high-quality, evidence-based resources for all learners.
