Amcanion cyffredinol

  1. To teach students the technical, musical and psychological skills of conducting.
  2. To give students an opportunity to obtain practical experience of conducting.
  3. To build on performance and communication skills already acquired.
  4. To provide specific skills for third-year students about to embark on careers involving conducting.

Cynnwys cwrs

This module will equip students with the essential skills for conducting and rehearsing, and related musical and organisational skills. Work will be mostly practical and will include study of gesture, beating time, the detailed preparation of a score, rehearsal technique, and psychological skills required by a conductor.

  5. On completion of the module, a student should be able to demonstrate a theoretical and critical understanding of the role of the conductor.
