Bangor performed well in the people and planet indicator (which assess the environmental and ethical standard of each UK university) reaching 19th place and a position in the top 15% of all institutions.
It also showed significant progress in the student experience indicator, rising 39 places from last year to 58th place. Bangor performs well too in the research indicator, achieving a top 40 position.
For the 2026 edition the Times are using the NSS 2025 results for both student satisfaction indicators, the primary driver in Bangor’s improvement.
Within Wales there are no movements in overall ranking, with Bangor remaining in 4th position. The top three remain the same as the previous year, Cardiff, Swansea and Aberystwyth.
