Research Working Title – From soil test to soil decision: responsible agri-technology, farmer decision-making and regenerative soil outcomes on Welsh family farms.
• Environmental Planning focus: soils, landscape, natural-resource governance, responsible innovation and farmer decision-making in Wales.
• Research problem: understanding how technology-generated soil information is interpreted and translated into farm-management decisions within Wales’s changing environmental-policy landscape.
• Proposed design: comparative qualitative case study across contrasting Welsh farming areas using semi-structured interviews, farm walks, soil-test elicitation, document analysis and cross-case thematic analysis.
• Academic contribution: linking responsible innovation, farmer decision-making and environmental planning to explain when AgriTech use supports pathways towards regenerative soil management.
