The De-Extinction of Experience: Dawn Chorus – Finding Sound and/in Poetry with Siân Melangell Dafydd
What does it sound like when we come together to respond to nature?
Join a unique collective experience combining listening, reflection, and vocal response to environmental sound. This workshop will introduce techniques for breathing, posture awareness, and focused attention to support deeper, more attentive listening.
We will spend time listening to birdsong together and then experiment with vocalising as a group in creative response.
Participants can respond in any language – or none at all. All are welcome – no prior experience is needed.
This event is part of a discipline-hopping project funded by WREC on how different ways of engaging with natural environments influence people’s experiences, perceptions, and how they feel. Participants will take part in an interactive event involving listening, observation, response, and participation in environmental sound and nature-based activities. Following the activity, participants will be asked a few short questions about their experiences, feelings, and views on nature and the environment.
Supported by WREC Wales Research Environment and Culture.
