Good curriculum design planning is an essental part of any programme. Within the health service local professionals often have to interpret national curriculum to suit the local need. This module will introduce the concept of curricula planning to the students and give them an opportunity to plan modules within their own discipline.
The role of curriculum in the wider HE programme Learning outcomes and their purposes and how they are used in assessment Understanding different types of curriculum e.g. case based learning vs didactic modular teaching
threshold (50-59%) : Students will demonstrate a basic level of knowledge, understanding, and skills required for meeting the learning outcomes. Students will demonstrate a general level of understanding of the practical and theoretical perspectives and are able to make some references to relevant literature. For the critical analysis, students will have attained a basic knowledge of material contained in set texts or reading materials with the links between theory and own practice fairly clear in parts. Students will have satisfactorily completed essential assessment exercises. Written work will be acceptable but with a number of errors evident.

Self directed study of the power points and panopto on blackboard prior to having a skype session to discuss the material and assignments
Students will utilise this time to review materials on blackboard and to commence their assignmetns. additional skype/email sessions will be available for helping students
Skype sessions to appraise the learning materials and assist students with preparation for the coursework There will be 1 skype session for each lecture for this module (5)
