The De-Extinction of Experience: Songbirds, silence and words with Montenegrofisher
Chile-UK artist duo Montenegrofisher present an early morning listening event in collaboration with the Tysilio Festival.
Set within the woods of Coed Cyrnol near Church Island, this participatory workshop invites artists, poets, local residents, and curious listeners into a shared exploration of ecology, language, birdsong, listening, and place. Through a series of actions, individual wandering, sound, movement, and collective making, participants are invited to shift their attention towards presence. There is no destination, no requirement to identify species, and no pressure to explain what is found.
The workshop explores ideas of ecological interconnectedness, non-human communication, listening practices, and relationships between landscape, memory, and language.
This event is part of a discipline-hopping project presented by CAInC, on how different ways of engaging with natural environments influence people’s experiences and perceptions.
Supported by WREC Wales Research Environment and Culture.
