Poland trip

Bangor Fund supports student participation at a workshop on homelessness in Poland

The students had an incredible educational, cultural, and social experience. Selected for their passion for social justice and aspirations to pursue careers in law and social work, they joined students from Poland and Germany to explore the causes of homelessness and how it has been addressed through policy in Wales and Poland. New networks and partnerships were formed, which will encourage further cooperation in areas of social justice. Overall, this was a very successful trip with excellent results.

Dr Hefin Gwilym, Lecturer in Social Policy

As a first year student in Sociology and Social Policy at Bangor University, the trip to Poland with students from Germany and Poland was a very valuable experience. Above all, I built relationships with international students, broadening my perspectives, improving my communication skills, and creating a supportive network for future study and collaboration. The experience also adds value to my CV, showing that I am ready to travel and to step out of my comfort zone in order to develop personally and academically.

Tomos Jones, First Year student in Sociology and Social Policy

It’s a privilege to help bring this project to life, and deeply grateful to our alumni for their contributions to the Bangor Fund. Their generosity enables students to take part in transformative experiences like this. It’s inspiring to witness the lasting impact of their support on student learning and growth.”
