Overview

Mae pawb yn siarad rywfaint yn wahanol, ond dydi'r amrywiaeth yma ddim yn digwydd ar hap! Mae'r modiwl cyfrwng Cymraeg hwn yn eich dysgu chi sut i adnabod, mesur ac esbonio’r amrywiaeth sydd i’w weld mewn iaith, yn enwedig y Gymraeg, mewn ffordd systematig a gwerthfawr.

Byddwch yn dysgu am faes sosioieithyddiaeth (sociolinguistics) er mwyn archwilio effaith cymdeithas ar iaith, gan gynnwys dysgu am theori, astudiaethau achos penodol, a dulliau cyfoes ac hanesyddol o gasglu a dadansoddi data sosioieithyddol. Byddwch chi'n gallu adnabod ac esbonio patrymau mewn amrywiaeth gramadegol a sut mae hyn yn gallu dweud mwy wrthon ni am gymdeithas. Ymysg y sgiliau byddwch chi’n eu dysgu a’u datblygu mae dehongli data meintiol (quantitative) mewn ffordd feirniadol a darganfod sut mae ymchwil ieithyddol yn cael ei wneud.

Mae dau asesiad i'r modiwl, sef ysgrifennu adroddiad sy’n gofyn dadansoddi a dehongli data sosioieithyddol, ac ysgrifennu traethawd am y maes.

Bydd myfyrwyr yn dysgu am bynciau fel: - Beth yw sosioieithyddiaeth amrywiaethol (variationist sociolinguistics) - Hanes tafodieitheg ac amrywiaeth tafodieithol yn y Gymraeg - Effaith oedran ar iaith - Effaith rhywedd ar iaith - Amrywiaeth o ran arddull iaith - Effaith dwyieithrwydd ar iaith - Sut i gasglu data sosioieithyddol - Sut i ddadansoddi data sosioieithyddol - Beth yw’r diweddaraf ym maes sosioieithyddiaeth Gymraeg

Trothwy / Gradd D: Gafael sylfaenol ar brif nodweddion sosioieithyddol y Gymraeg. Gallu cyfyngedig mewn adnabod yr agweddau rhain mewn testunau llafar/ysgrifenedig. Yn gallu deall a thrafod agweddau damcaniaethol o theori sosioieithyddiaeth Labovaidd i safon ganolraddol. Gallu cyfyngedig mewn dadansoddi amrywiaeth yn nodweddion y Gymraeg ar draws newidynnau ieithyddol ac allieithyddol. Gallu cyfyngedig mewn cymharu gwahanol nodweddion o ramadeg y Gymraeg dros amser. Yn arddangos gallu sylfaenol mewn dadansoddi agweddau geiriol a gramadegol o dafodieithoedd y Gymraeg. Yn dangos gallu ganolraddol sylfaenol o ddatblygiad haneysddol y Gymraeg. Yn deall ac yn gallu defnyddio technegau casglu data sosioieithyddol i safon sylfaenol. Yn gwneud defnydd sylfaenol o arddull ysgrifennu academaidd ac yn dangos gallu cyfyngedig mewn cyflwyno syniadau a chysyniadau perthnasol mewn ffurf ysgrifienedig a llafar.

Da / Gradd B: Gafael dda ar brif nodweddion sosioieithyddol y Gymraeg. Gallu mewn adnabod yr agweddau rhain mewn testunau llafar/ysgrifenedig. Yn gallu deall a thrafod agweddau damcaniaethol o theori sosioieithyddiaeth Labovaidd i safon ganolraddol dda.
