Cultural modules - Compulsory Students must take both modules in this section.

Language modules Students may pursue French and/or Spanish. Students should choose the appropriate category depending on whether they wish to follow the module in the medium of Welsh or in the medium of English. Students must take language modules at the appropriate level of their proficiency. Beginners or post-GCSE proficiency in French/Spanish must take the 2 modules labelled Beginners'. Students who have an A-level or equivalent proficiency already in French/Spanish must take the 2 modules labelled Intermediate. Each language (French and Spanish), each medium (Welsh and English) and each level (Beginner and Intermediate) have an A module and a B module. A modules run in semester 1; B modules run in semester 2. When choosing language modules, students must choose A+B pairs of modules that match for language, medium and level.

Study placement: re-sit modules Please note that students only need to do one of these modules if they do not pass the requisite 15 Bangor credits per semester during a year abroad placement. If a student fails to pass 15 Bangor credits in a single semester, then they need to do LXE-9015. If a student fails to pass 15 Bangor credits in a both semesters, then they need to do LXE-9030.

Work placement / British Council Assistantship Students may search for a work placement in the relevant country, to be approved by the Department. In addition, with the support of the Department, students can apply to work as English language assistants in the relevant country via the British Council.
