Amcanion cyffredinol
Bydd y modiwl hwn yn edrych ar nifer o gyfryngau gweledol gan archwilio testunau unigol yn ogystal ac edrych ar y sefydliadau sy'n eu cynhyrchu, a'r cyd-destun cymdeithasol a gwleidyddol o amgylch y sefydliadau hynny. Bydd yn trafod dadleuon ynglyn a natur gwahanol gyfryngau, ac yn archwilio'r berthynas rhwng y cyfrwng a'r testun. Bydd hefyd yn trafod newyddiaduraeth, ond gan ganolbwyntio ar ffurfiau gweledol o newyddiadura, gan gynnwys ffoto-newyddiaduraeth a ffilmiau dogfen. Un o amcanion y modiwl hwn yw arfogi myfywrwyr a gwybodaeth a dealltwriaeth o ddadleuon allweddol am orffennol, presennol a dyfodol cyfryngau gweledol.
Cynnwys cwrs
Bydd y modiwl yma yn trafod ystod o bynciau, gan gynnwys (er engrhaifft) • Edrych ar sut y caiff gwahanol gyfryngau eu uchelhau, neu eu iselhau, o safbwynt diwylliannol a chelfyddydol • Dadleuon yn ymwneud a hil, dosbarth, rhyw a rhywioldeb • Y berthynas rhwng dramau teledu a chwestiynnau cymdeithasol a gwleidyddol • Natur newyddiaduraeth weledo a chlyweledol (audio-visual) • Y berthynas rhwng y cyfrwng a'r neges, a phenodoldeb cyfryngau arbennig • Newidiadau i'r diwydiannau sy'n cynhyrchu testunau clyweledol a gweledol
