Sport and Exercise Psychology M.Sc.
Originally from England and graduated in 2002.
Following the completion of my Masters degree at SSHES, I completed a PGCE also at Bangor University. I taught at Moulton College in England before moving to the United States where I completed a Masters in Kinesiology at Midwestern State University and a doctorate in Kinesiology at the University of Arkansas. I now serve as the Coaching Science Director at Oklahoma State University.
Over the past several years I have become recognized as an expert in male body image and how perceived body image impacts learning and credibility in the health disciplines. I have published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and have acquired over $200,000 in grant funding. SSHES was instrumental in providing me with those fundamental skills that are necessary to be a successful researcher. Faculty had high expectations of all of us, and they pushed us to become better learners. I chose SSHES above many other programmes because it was recognised as one of the best in the UK. That it remains one of the best is no surprise.
