How Can You Help Students Prepare Before Results Day?
Being prepared can make a big difference. Encourage early research:
- Explore subjects they’d enjoy
- Look at our undergraduate course pages
- Think about the accommodation options and student life
- Create a shortlist
- Make sure they are ready. Students should have: UCAS ID, exam results and personal statement details
How Can You Help Students On Results Day?
You can support them by:
- Check their UCAS Hub status
- Review Bangor’s available courses
- Call the Clearing Helpline to discuss options
- Helping to prepare what to say and know which courses they are interested in
- Making sure they have their UCAS ID, grades and qualifications to hand
What Happens On Results Day?
Students may not have got the grades or points score that they needed, but their Firm or Insurance choice university may still decide to accept them onto the course. Contact them first and do not just assume that they are in Clearing. If they decide not to accept the student, or if they are not holding offers at any institution, they are eligible to apply for a place through Clearing.
The student's UCAS application will state ‘You are in Clearing’ or ‘Clearing has started’. If they are in Clearing, they must contact universities directly to enquire about available places on their courses and whether they meet their requirements.
