Experience
Hamid is a tutor at Bangor University International College and a psychology PhD candidate at Bangor University, School of Psychology and Sport Science. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education, and a postgraduate student representative at the university. While mainly focusing on psychology, Hamid teaches a range of modules concerning business and economics, study skills, and English for academic purposes. Prior to studying psychology, he had been working for years in the industry as a culturalization specialist and a public speaker in Iran, China, Dubai, Germany, and Turkey. Hamid also has experience teaching children at high school. Both during his Master’s and his PhD., he has been helping universities to organize conferences for research students and his own research interests are in cognitive neuroscience and social psychology. Currently in higher education, he is very keen in supporting international students who might face additional challenges while studying and students with disabilities who might require personal learning plans. Hamid is also the disability lead and a personal tutor at BUIC.

Language and culture, accent, competitive videogaming, travelling, board games, storytelling, food, and poetry.

As a tutor at BUIC, I have the wonderful opportunity to work in a highly passionate and professional team, teaching home and international students who come from a wide range of cultural and ethnical backgrounds. I have been learning so much from the students!
