10.000 Credyd neu 5.000 Credyd ECTS
Semester 1 a 2
Trefnydd: Mr Craig Hodges
Amcanion cyffredinol
This module will enable the student to enhance their knowledge of the functionality of the human body applicable to clinical practice. The module will focus on aspects of physiology that are relevant and specific to physiology in health and disease and emphasise physiological processes that underpin the clinical assessment and treatment of patients.
This module will integrate horizontally into the anatomy module and vertically with the skills and knowledge gained from the primarily clinical modules, enabling students to synthesise and incorporate learning experiences from multiple domains.
Cynnwys cwrs
This module aims to give the student an in-depth knowledge of Clinical Physiology.
The basic eukaryotic cell and its components will be covered, together with the types of tissues that make up the functional systems. The module content will describe key principles of physiology and the function of individual systems. This will lead onto the effect of dysfunctional body systems in human activities, including the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, nervous, musculo-skeletal and genito-urinary systems as contained in the Physician Associate curriculum content.

Category A (70% - 100%):
An excellent student should have a thorough factual knowledge across all aspects of the module, and be able to detail examples where appropriate, supported by additional reading and knowledge drawn from other modules. The work presents evidence of critical thinking. For the higher 'A' marks, critical analysis and wider reading is essential.
da
Category B (60%-69%)
A good student should have a thorough factual knowledge across all aspects of the module, and be able to detail examples where appropriate.
trothwy
Category C (50% -59%)
A threshold student should have thorough knowledge of the essential facts and key concepts of human physiology presented in the module.
Canlyniad dysgu

Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the integration of human anatomy and physiology in how diseases present, develop and respond to intervention.
-
Analyse the relevance of buffers and pH in health and illness.
-
Demonstrate a deep understanding of cells, tissue types and organs, both normal and abnormal.
-
Demonstrate an understanding of the homeostatic balance in normal and abnormal physiological processes.
