About the North Wales School of Law

I am delighted to welcome you to the North Wales School of Law.   

The School brings together Law, Criminology, Policing and Sociology to help you understand the relationship between law, justice and society. 

Rooted in North Wales, with a global outlook, your studies will explore how laws, institutions and social systems shape people's lives. You'll engage with the ideas, debates and challenges affecting communities locally, nationally and internationally, developing an understanding of how law and justice can contribute to addressing some of society's most pressing issues.  

You'll learn from experts whose research informs policy and professional practice in areas such as human rights, security, access to justice and emerging technologies. Through this approach, you'll engage with contemporary developments in law and justice while developing the confidence to think critically, analyse complex issues and form your own perspectives.

We believe that outstanding education combines academic rigour with practical experience. You'll be supported to develop the skills, confidence and experience needed for your future career. Whether you aspire to work in law, criminal justice, policing, public service, policy or a wide range of other professions, you'll graduate with the analytical, communication and problem-solving skills valued by employers. You'll also have opportunities to apply your learning through initiatives such as our award-winning Legal Advice Clinic and through partnerships with organisations including North Wales Police and the Probation Service.
