North Wales Business Academy
The North Wales Business Academy (NWBA) is a three year initiative part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), through the Welsh Government. The aim of the programme is to encourage business growth and competitiveness by enabling employers in the North Wales region to identify and address the specific training needs of their organisation.
Take a look at our new promotional video
Phase One of the programme is the Strategic Business Analysis (SBA) module, delivered over two days. The SBA is a university-accredited, Level 5 module. During the module participants assess the key areas of their business, to gain the necessary skills and tools required for them to support and manage a growing business and workforce. Participants are allocated an experienced business mentor to evaluate their business and to produce a Strategic Diagnostic Report and Training Needs Analysis.
This module is best undertaken by someone in the business who can make decisions and implement the training and knowledge acquired in the SBA to the workplace, e.g. the business owner, manager, or departmental lead.
Phase 2 offers a wide range of specialist university-accredited modules. Each module offers short and effective training designed to improve the management and operational performance of the workforce.
These modules are designed to upskill the workforce and can be undertaken by staff members who would benefit from the training. The modules which would be of most benefit to the business will be identified during the SBA.
The North Wales Business Academy is a collaborative project. It provides an opportunity for businesses throughout North Wales to have access to the collective talents, skills and expertise of Grwp Llandrillo Menai, Bangor University, Wrexham Glyndwr University and Coleg Cambria.
The NWBA offers a wide range of core and specialist modules based around seven business themes which are unique to the programme. The modules are short, accredited qualifications (level 4-6) which are delivered across the four partner institutions. Our team of experienced Business Mentors work closely with you to ensure that the skills and knowledge gained from the programme become embedded in your workplace.
Further information is available on the main NWBA website.
