Inter Site Travelling

Instead of taking your car to meetings in other parts of the campus, have you thought of allowing the extra 10-15 minutes to take a nice walk or cycle instead? Most of the time you spend 5 minutes searching for a car parking space anyway!

The average number of steps and time it takes to walk between various sites can be found below.

College Road to Normal Site
The walk from Main Arts to Normal site only takes 18 minutes, and provides 2000 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk there is generally flat with pavements, with lovely views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey on the way.

College Road to Deiniol Road

The walk from Main Arts to Deiniol Road takes approximately 6 minutes and provides 725 steps to your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. You can either follow Lower Penrallt Road all the way down or take the stairs from Brigantia down.

College Road to Dean Street

The walk from Main Arts to Dean Street only takes 7 minutes and provides 800 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk there is mostly down hill through College Park and then past Aldi.

College Road to Ffriddoedd

The walk from Main Arts to Ffriddoedd takes approximately 9 minutes and provides 1100 steps to your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. There are two ways via Menai Avenue or Ffriddoedd Road which both have a hill but they're fairly gradual.

College Road to Menai Bridge Site ~ by bike

 

Normal Site to Deiniol Road
The walk from Normal Site to Deiniol Road only takes 23 minutes and provides 2400 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk is mostly flat with lovely views of the Menai Straits before dropping through upper Bangor.

Normal Site to College Road

The walk from the Normal site to Main Arts only takes 18 minutes, and provides 2000 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk there is generally flat with pavements, with lovely views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey on the way.

Normal Site to Dean Street

The walk from the Normal site to Dean Street takes 25 minutes, and provides 2800 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk to Main Arts is generally flat with pavements, with lovely views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey on the way, then downhill from there through College Park.

Normal Site to Ffriddoedd

The walk from Normal site to Ffriddoedd only takes 17 minutes, and provides 1800 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk there is generally flat with pavements and lovely views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey on the way.

Normal Site to Menai Bridge Site

 

Deiniol Road to Dean Street
The walk from Deiniol Road to Dean Street takes only 8 minutes and provides 850 steps to your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk is completely flat along the main road.

Deiniol Road to College Road

The walk from Deiniol Road to Main Arts takes approximately 7 minutes and provides 725 steps to your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. You can either follow Lower Penrallt Road up or take the stairs which lead up to Brigantia.

Deiniol Road to Normal Site

The walk from Deiniol Road to the Normal site takes 25 minutes, and provides 2700 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk there is uphill to Main Arts via Lower Penrallt Road or the steps which lead up to Brigantia then generally flat with pavements to the Normal site, with lovely views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey on the way.

The walk from Deiniol Road to Ffriddoedd only takes 10 minutes and provides 1000 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk is mainly uphill, up Glanrafon Road, past Morrisons and along Ffriddoedd Road.

 

Dean Street to College Road

The walk from Dean Street to Main Arts takes only 10 minutes and provides 800 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk is mostly uphill through College Park after passing Aldi.

Dean Street to Deiniol Road

The walk from Dean Street to Deiniol Road takes only 8 minutes and provides 850 steps to your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk is completely flat along the main road.

Dean Street to Normal Site

The walk from Dean Street to the Normal Site takes 28 minutes, and provides 2800 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk is uphill through College Park until you reach Main Arts, then is generally flat with pavements until you reach the Normal Site, with lovely views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey on the way.

Dean Street to Ffriddoedd

The walk from Dean Street to Ffriddoedd only takes 18 minutes and provides 1850 steps towards your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. The walk is mainly uphill and runs along the main road, up Glanrafon Road, past Morrisons and along Ffriddoedd Road.

 

Ffriddoedd to College Road
The walk from Ffriddoedd to Main Arts takes approximately 9 minutes and provides 1100 steps to your 10,000 daily steps recommendation. There are two ways via Menai Avenue or Ffriddoedd Road which both drop down onto fairly flats pavements.
