“Hi I'm Gaz. I graduated from Bangor University in 2004 with an MEng in Electronic Engineering. I then continued with another 3 years of postgraduate study. I enjoyed my time at the University, especially the lectures and activities related to entrepreneurship.

I also love the area as I like outdoor activities and Snowdonia is nearby. "I set up my business in my spare time whilst I was doing postgraduate studies at Bangor. I followed online tutorials and began making websites and free online games. Fast forward 10 years and I've now made over 100 games and run a popular website called FreeGames.org. My games have been played millions of times and I've won several business awards. I've also been BAFTA nominated twice and broken a Guinness World Record!

Bangor University was supportive of my business from the outset. All students have access to free enterprise support and I was given free business mentoring in addition to access to helpful workshops. Since I left, Bangor University has increased the business support it offers to its students and works closely with Big Ideas Wales for whom I am now a Role Model.

"I'm excited for the future of FreeGames.org. Becoming and persisting as an entrepreneur is one of the best decisions I have ever made. My advice to anybody starting up is to make it your passion. It will likely be a long road and you will have to persist through hard times (and change direction more than once), but you can achieve a lot with consistent focus and effort.
