Chris was born in Northwich, Cheshire in 1956. He studied Electronic Engineering at Bangor in 1974. Once he gained his degree in 1977, he moved to Swansea University to complete his Masters, also in Electronics in 1979.
Following graduation, he then joined Race Electronics, followed by Dragon Data, designing the hardware for the Dragon Computer and peripherals.
He became the Technical Director at Tellermate (part of the Percell Group) where he patented many of his design ideas. He was based in Johannesburg and Atlanta as well as the Newport Head Office. During his time at Tellermate, he, along with senior colleagues, received three Queen’s Awards for Industry, two of them in the same year, 1997.
Alongside working for the above companies, Chris also worked as a design consultant for Coinmaster in Cardiff and in later years, Autogaming and Autodice, working in Macau for part of this time.
Chris died on 1st September 2025 aged 69.
