Careers and Employability Fair
Bangor Business School’s Careers and Employability Fair, which takes place during semester one, provides an excellent opportunity to meet recruiters, learn more about post-graduation employment options, and gain an insight into what employers are looking for from graduate job seekers.
We will also be hosting a Recruitment Game through which students will have a chance to win one of 6 paid internships with local businesses. Find out more below.

Careers Fair (12.45-3.45pm – Hugh Owen Hall, Management Centre)
A wide range of local and nationwide recruiters will be exhibiting throughout the afternoon. Find out about their internships, graduate schemes and career vacancies.

Breakout Sessions (1.15-3.45pm – various rooms in Alun and Dyfrdwy)
Running alongside the Careers Fair will be a series of breakout sessions, where organisations will go into more depth about careers options and the graduate job search. If you're interested in a particular company or a career path, then this is a great opportunity to acquire some inside knowledge.
Students are required to register for these hour-long sessions due to room capacitities.
CV Drop-In Clinic (1.15-3.45pm – Hugh Owen Lower Boardroom)
The University’s Careers and Employability Service will be running a ‘drop-in’ CV clinic throughout the afternoon. Take a copy of your CV for free advice on how to strengthen it and mark yourself out from other graduate job hunters.
Recruitment Game (1.15-3.45pm – A2.01)
The Recruitment Game is an exciting opportunity for students to compete for one of 6 paid internships with local businesses, whilst simultaneously honing their interview and assessment centre skills. On offer are:
- Three 12-week paid internships (worth £1,000 every 4 weeks) for final year students (both undergraduate and Masters)
- Three 4-week paid placements (worth £1,000) for second year undergraduate students
Opportunities are in part funded by the host business (Dafydd Hardy, Zipworld and 75Point3) and Santander Universities.
We regret that this game is not open to first year undergraduates.
How do I apply?
All eligible students will receive an email inviting them to apply at the beginning of Semester 1, with further instructions on how to do so. Applicants must submit their BEST application as ONLY 3 shortlisted players per internship opportunity will be invited to particpate in the game. These 18 players will be invited to attend and will be assessed both individually and in teams on four activities:
- Brainstorming Business Challenge
- Speed Interview
Alumni Q&A (2.45-3.45pm – D2.07)
We will be welcoming back Bangor Business School alumni for an employability-focused Q&A session. Find out how they made the journey from student to successful professional. On the panel will be:
- Ross Starkie: HM Inspector of Taxes, HMRC
- Edward Jones: Lecturer in Economics, Bangor Business School
- Fiona Anderson: Head of Human Resources, Europe, Oaktree Capital Management
- Oana Lazar: Management Consultant,Deloitte
Students are required to register for this session due to room capacity.
Students are required to register for the breakout sessions (including the alumni panel) they wish to attend due to an upper limit on room capacities.
Please note that due to the anticipated demand and the capacities of the rooms in Alun and Dyfrdwy, we are only able to accept registrations from students of Bangor Business School and not other academic schools.
